Los Angeles, May 22nd – On the heels of numerous other major newspaper endorsements, Nuestra Comunidad (a Spanish-language newspaper and division of the Met-News Company) endorsed gang prosecutor Alan Jackson for District Attorney. Jackson earned the support of another Spanish language paper, Impacto USA, last week and leads all candidates in newspaper endorsements. Nuestra Comunidad commended “Jackson's demonstration in that case (Phil Spector prosecution), and others, of a keen awareness of how to go about presenting a case to maximize the prospects of victory—while staying within the bounds of strict ethical standards imposed on prosecutors.” Alan Jackson stated, “Support of my candidacy from all corners of the community is humbling. I am proud to have such deep and broad backing from our community’s stakeholders.” Alan Jackson has been endorsed by the Daily News and over a dozen other papers with millions of readers countywide including Torrance Daily Breeze, Long Beach Press-Telegram, Pasadena Star News, and Whittier Daily News. Alan leads all candidates in support from law enforcement and victims’ rights leaders. Alan Jackson has been a prosecutor in the LA County District Attorney’s office for 17 years where he has tried nearly 60 felony cases, more than half of which have been murder trials. He spent five years prosecuting hardcore gang cases in Compton, after which he moved to the Major Crimes Division where he has led the prosecution in some of California’s highest profile cases. Prior to becoming a Deputy DA, Jackson served in the United States Air Force as a Jet mechanic. Currently, Jackson serves as the Assistant Head Deputy of the Major Crimes Division where he oversees the office’s most complex and high-profile cases. # # # |
